My name is Enrique Eduardo Piñerua, son of the renowned ophthalmologist Jesus Enrique Piñerua (Maracaibo, Venezuela) and I have been an ocular prosthetist since 2008 (Buenos Aires, Argentina) with a large number of successful cases in patients with PMMA ocular prostheses. I focus on approaching each case in a personalized way and take on complicated jobs that not any prosthetist can solve, returning the natural expression of your face and improving your quality of life.

Having a family tradition of ophthalmologists, I became interested in ocular prosthetics after studying plastic arts and jewelry since 2000. The medical environment allowed me to have access to the most complicated and dramatic cases that little by little shaped my experience in the specialty and always under the supervision and recommendation of ocular plastic surgeons.

Ocular prostheses are manufactured from scratch in Polymethyl methacrylate or PMMA, which is a lightweight and resistant dental acrylic that, unlike glass or ceramic prostheses, will not break.

So, in addition to being an Ocularist or ocular prosthetist, I am a craftsman and plastic artist sensitive to the aesthetics of colors and shapes that definitely make this specialty very demanding so that the final piece appears as a natural eye that integrates well with your face, returning that natural expression, facilitating a social interaction without worries.
